This year, I felt like I had some sort of control of my time. This year what I did different was that I focused a lot more of my time on homework and community service. But, there was times where my procrastination and my assumptions got in the way of me wanting to control my time. I have learned that making a graph or a calendar does not work at all, if you don't actually try to stay up with it. What brings me joy about this year's time management was my ability to increase pies around school-related time zones. What didn't bring me joy was the fact that I procrastinate but, when I do, it's powerful force that allows me to eliminate time I have with distractions. I really want to improve my procrastination issue and to be able to understand why I do it and when I did so, when I feel like procrastinating, I can keep myself in check my reminding myself of my time management.

My community service this year has really allowed me to explore more places and organizations. To improve my community, I have served at The Kids Breakfast Club where you serve breakfast for people who cant have one. I have also attended in the Bridging Mentorship Program where you mentor middle school students from foreign countries and teach them the path to college. These two programs in particular has really allowed me to help other people. I learned that if you help other people in any case, it makes you feel good while they also feel good and motivated.

My experience attempting to enter these programs has been a great learning experience. Writing out the applications really allowed me to get a sense of what is like to apply to a college application. The first program I applied for was a math camp for students who want to expand their knowledge in the math field if you want to become a engineer. I chose this program because I noticed that I'm good at math so I thought I might want to become a engineer. I did not get inside the program but the whole application progress made me realize that the pressure for these application is very real and competitive. Another application that I applied was a summer camp of the arts. I chose this because one of my passions and long time hobby, is to edit videos. This application is really competitive since it required a art portfolio. Since I applied very close to the deadline, I wasn't able to make a portfolio in time. But this has taught me the importance of having to apply early instead doing things last minute like I always do. The final application I did was for concurrent enrollment at Chabot college for the Introduction to Media Art. A month ago I got a letter in the mail that read that I was accepted and so, that feeling of accomplishment began to sink in. This taught me that you don't have to search far and wide for resources when who have plenty of good resources nearby. Something that was hard about applying to these programs, was the fact that you had to finish everything with a enclosing deadline. What inspired me was my passion for media art and the situation I live in.

This year I had the opportunity to be apart of 2 teams. My experience working with a group was productive. When we hiked at Mission Peak(video in my time capsule)with my latest group, Lizbeth, Cesia, and me, everybody waited for everyone to catch up. This really improved my ability to be in a group because it allowed me to have trust in people and be able to count on them if I'm in a problem. For my other group I would like to say that my experience with them has been somewhat challenging. This specific group already expects everyone to be together, to not fall behind and I felt like an outcast at some points of our projects. But, this just teaches me that not all groups create synergy and sometimes you just have to deal with a group that you dont necessary like the people. My goal for next year is work on communication for my team. I learned that communication between groups is key for a group to succeed in its goal.

My experience delivering my Teacher Recommendation has been great. I was a little nervous because I was afraid that she wouldn't do it because of the deadline being so close. But she was able to complete it and submit it just in time. I had to give a short speech before giving my letter to her. This helped me learn to be formal when asking for teachers to take some time off what they're doing to read my document. For my resume, I have not applied for a job or an internship so I had no interaction with an employer. But, since I now have a updated Resume, this will help me in the future when i want to apply for a internship or a job. I have learned from myself that it's very important to be prepared and know how to turn in these important documents since it could be the difference between whether they accept me or not. I also learned that I am rally good at introducing my letter to my teacher. When talking to my teacher, I felt real confident while presenting.
